INSTANTANEOUS MEAN MOM!

My kids want you to feel bad for them. They want sympathy and empathy because they don't get it from me! And I grounded them during Sacrament Meeting today!! LOL!!

Well, I started this little Valentine tradition last year that the boys LOVED!! It's a scavenger hunt to find their valentine's presents. They love it! So valentine's was a happy day! Treats, toys, night with grandma babysitting. The boys were so happy when they crawled into bed last night.
This morning, i have Shrek 1 & Shrek 2 - aka OGRES - living at my house. (Can we say overstimulated/candy-induced/freakish children?) I had a horrible fit of nausea and wasn't sure if I'd make it to church, but I decided the boys needed it more than I did, so I made them get ready for church & we went to Sacrament Meeting.
During Sacrament, Colby got the giggles so bad, to the point where I was getting embarrassed because he wouldn't be quiet! I did EVERYTHING a patient, non-nauseated, non-pregnant mom would do. I sat between them, I held his arms to his sides, I made him go get a drink of water and he just kept laughing hysterically. Colby even pushed Brady and Brady - who is Mr. Oscar Worthy Actor - flops on the floor and pretends to be totally injured.
So finally, at my wit's end (and ready to run to the bathroom!) I say, "Colby that's iT! You are grounded from TV & Computer for today."

You would have thought I just said to him, 'Colby, I killed your pet fish and it wasn't an accident. I grabbed him out of the bowl and threw him on the driveway and ran him over and over again with my car.'

HE STARTS BAWLING!!

He starts saying what a mean, horrible mom I am! (LOL, I think it's funny) He's trying to control himself and keeps crying as much as he was laughing. so I made him leave again and get a drink of water. He comes back & tells me how much I don't love him and how could I be so mean as to leave him with NOTHING to do today. Nothing! oh what a cruel world we live in!!
LOL!!! I think I'll cancel the next few holidays for these guys! holy crow.

As for me, I left them at primary so I could come home and take a 90 minute break and a nausea pill :). And, of course, write about it on my blog :).

We're allowed to do that? I would love to leave my kids at church.

That's awesome...my kids would've been like SOOOOO? And yeah, I'm all for free babysitting at church, except I'm one of the babysitters. :)

Figures...I knew the real Ane would come out sooner or later. You can't always be all smiles and laughter all of the time. I miss you...

Kids are such a JOY. Good to hear mine aren't the only pains. I just had this illusion they would be better when they got older. I guess I am wrong :( lol. I hate Sacrament Mtg alone (as in the only adult). It SUCKS BAD!
