Does anyone out there have a child who is their twin in EVERY sense of the word? I don't mean, they look just like you, or they might have a few qualities like you . . . i mean the CHILD IS YOUR CLONE!! Eerily like you in every way, shape and form known to mankind!
I'm slowly learning this about Brady! holy crud!! If you wanted to meet Ane in miniature, male form, HE IS IT! It is so uncanny how much like me he is. Even in his foibles, his mannerisms, his comments, his fears, his dreams, his flaws. . . .they are ALL ME!!!!! WOW!
So I was thinking about this because Tandy, my friend & I took our kids up to Timpanogos cave this week. I've never been before - but I've heard about it. All the HORROR stories! ;) Being left in the dark, the trecherous hike, rabid eagles grabbing your young ones off the cliffs feeding them to sharks in Utah Lake, you know, the usual stuff.
Actually, when I was a kid, I had a friend who had gone to the cave with her family. She told me how 'scary it was'. They turn off the lights she whispers like she's telling a spooky ghost story at girls' camp at midnight - and you can't even see your hand in front of your face!! To an 8 year old girl with a vivid imagination. . . I was FuH REaked out!

So now I'm a Mommy, and I'm taking my boys, and I tell Brady, "yeah, I heard they turn out the lights and you can't see your hand in front of your face." Just in a very informative, friendly voice. Not the spooky-ghost-story-at-girl's-camp thing. . . AND BRADY ....FREAKS.... OUT!!! He doesn't want to go into the cave. He's terrified, but trying to be brave. . . How do I seriously not laugh at a miniature version of myself??? Honestly!

After we were done, Brady said, "Mom, that wasn't scary. That was AWESOME!"

Heck yes! It was awesome!! Even Colby made the hike. the little trooper. His short little legs don't carry him very fast, but he did it! i'm so proud of him and Tandy & I burned 1200 calories! It was like I was anorexic for a day! LOL!!

Dane is mini-me. I've just been writing a poem about it.
The photos are so great.
Whatta hike! I've never been.
Great storytelling post.
The world will be a better place with two of you in it!
You go girl!!! You do so many fun things with your boys. I was actually thinking about that for this summer, but my pregnant body would not make it up there and my kids would freak!
