Although we are surprised and sad about President Hinckley's passing, I wanted to share some of our memories about him.
Brady said to me "Mom, I remember that he waved at me!" This was during our Region Conference, we sat in the bottom level about 20 rows from the stand. We could see President Hinckley rather well, and I think Brady remembers the feeling of being in the presence of the prophet and a man of God.
I've never met President Hinckley, but I've seen him and felt his presence on numerous occasions. My favorite was the "Day of Celebration" for the Youth in 2005. We were all at Rice-Eccles Stadium singing praises to Joseph Smith for the anniversary of his birth. President Hinckley came in for closing remarks, and there was such a HUGE difference in the feeling that night. Even for 60,000 people who were sitting there, it was a huge feeling of reverence and respect.
I'm happy for him to be reunited with his wife and I all ready have huge admiration for President Monson. There will be great things in store from him as well.
So here's our tribute - - WE LOVE YOU PRESIDENT HINCKLEY!!
