Too Much of a Good Thing?

The following is Ane getting up on her soap box and may contain images or language shocking to most people. Read the following with caution. . . but not really . . .

You guys know I love me some "Twilight". I started reading the series before Eclipse even came out. I loved being one of the first people to "discover" these books before the Twilight mania began.

Yes I LOVED them. YES, they were awesome books! Yes I was UBER excited when they starting making the movies. . . but now, I'm starting to get overly exposed to Twilight almost to the point where it turns me off to the whole thing because I'm so irritated at our 'capitalistic' ideals and society.

Case in point #1 -
Went to Bath & Body Works for some holiday shopping and lo and behold, they have a new fragrance line out called TWILIGHT WOODS. It specifically came out November 1st.
Coincidence? and it doesn't even smell that good. Shouldn't it smell like Edward? ;)

Case #2 -

I came across this in my Costco magazine today. It's Wuthering Heights "BELLA & EDWARD EDITION" SeriouslY? Are you kidding me? A classic book that's been around for 200 years now has a familiar cover (red, black & white flower. . . suspicious) that NO ONE would read even for an A in English class will now be flying off the shelves because of the Twilight name drop!! Won't teenage girls be sorely disappointed when they realize Edward Cullen doesn't actually APPEAR in this book.

Case #3 -

Bella & Edward BARBIES! Yes, you know you've hit it HUGE when the world is clamoring for your likeness in doll form!

ARGGH!!! SERIOUSLY!!! I really am turning cold to the whole Twilight saga. The only reason I'm excited for New Moon is because A- I'm going with all my friends at midnight and B -
K, seriously give me some perspective my friends!
I may be up in the night! I'm the kind of person who does NOT like to be trendy. I like "discovering" things or waiting until all the hype has gone away to delve into new things. (woah, type A personality?) I'm just sad that it seems like the overexposure for me has really made things less exciting for me. Eclipse . . eh.... Breaking Dawn. . . well, that one never had a chance with me!

Are you
1. Still in love with Twilight as when you first discovered it?
2. Indifferent to all the media hype, attention and teenage girls bluthering over Rob Pattinson?
3. Starting to get sick and tired of even HEARING "twilight" name dropped everywhere?

Leave me your comments! Which camp are you in? (And not Edward or Jacob!)

AND PLEASE HELP ME GET EXCITED FOR NEW MOON TO COME OUT!!!!

I'm sick of the hype and the blithering idiots that are crazy for all things Twilight. But I have very high hopes for the movie... although I might have to wait a week or so and go in the middle of the day so that I'm not surrounded by teenage freaks screaming at the movie screen.
P.S. I really, REALLY hate the first Twilight movie. I watched it again about a month ago and was cringing the entire time. Why is the acting and directing so BAD?? What's with "Edward's" BUG EYES?

You forgot about the Team Edward/Team Jacob Burger King crowns...seriously, now that's low.

The best way to get excited is just to revisit the books.
They're great story-telling books.

BTW, your #2 is THE most ridiculous thing I've seen yet.

Ane! I am still way stoked for New Moon although there is a lot of commercialism going on. I will admit that I bought the Twilight Woods fragrance, but I didn't associate it with the Twilight books. I will be seeing it on the 19th at 8:40 p.m.! I am way excited!

Someone at work gave me Edward (cool mint flavor) and Jacob (warm raspberry flavor-get it?) chocolate bars for Halloween. Those were cool. :) Everything else I am SO OVER! Bah! I don't even have tix to the movie cuz I don't know when the baby will get here. Guess I'll have to go a couple of days later with all the non-die-hards, so boring. But I am still completely psyched for the movie. It's so fun to see your fav books on big screen!

I have to say I was shocked, and yet not surprised to see all that stuff going on, but I just look passed it all. If people really want to spend their hard earned cash on that stuff, then that's their problem, and yet I can see how annoying it can be. Stupid brain-off people!

Anyway, even I (yes me) am excited about the new movie, but I love vampires, and after watching it 23 times (slightly exaggerated?) with Zae, it really grew on me and I love the characters and stuff.

Anyway, I'm super pumped and can't wait for it WOO HOO, a ONE PERSON PARTY OVER HERE :P
