You Can DO IT!

I am excited to report that yesterday I had a burst of energy that lasted for an HOUR!! Then I needed a nap :) lol
Even though I'm still uber nauseated - I feel I'm gradually getting stronger and a teensy, tiny bit more energized (Don't tell Kelly. I'll have to start doing housework & cooking again! lol!)

So I'm not to superwoman status - yet. But I'm hoping to get there soon!

On the OTHER news front, our basement is now ALL Sheetrocked and is in the 2nd day of mud & taping. I'm going to pick up some paint colors today! I'm soooo excited! And it won't be as dramatic my red wall upstairs - PROMISE!

Brady & Colby are playing Jr. Jazz and they LOVE it. Brady is doing so awesome. He's much improved from last year. Colby's first game is this Saturday so I can give you a status report.

If anyone has advice for this - I'd love to hear it! Colby tells me everyday that no one likes him and he doesn't have any friends. He is in a class with 25 kids and 5 are boys, the rest girls. I'm surprised to hear it because he's such a funny kid. (and maybe he's being TOO funny, I dont know) but I feel so heartsick when he comes home and tells me that but I don't know how to help him except to pray for him. What do you guys think or have experience with?

(ps - I'm having Colby apply for the ALPS program because he can do all of Brady's homework and he gets bored in class. I don't know if that will help with the "friend" problem. Maybe its like the academic child vs the althetic child. I wish I could be a fly on the wall at school sometimes. I just dunno!)

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, I HAVE DONE nothing FOR CHRISTMAS. I HOPE ALL THE NEIGHBORS CAN FORGIVE ME FOR ONLY CHRISTMAS CARDS THIS YEAR. I'VE HAD MY HEAD STUCK IN A TOILET FOR 3 MONTHS - SO I THINK THAT GIVES ME A LITTLE LEEWAY. Also, it's December 17th and I haven't even PICKED up the cards yet, so please be patient with the Genessy's this year. I hope you'll get your cards before New Years! LOL :)
SO MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Would you have him attend Jordan Ridge? It would be fun to have him be in Dane's class if he makes it in to the program.
I'm guessing that Colby's situation isn't as dire as he makes it sound (though it is how he feels about it). When you talk to him about school I'd ask him to name someone he did something with (ex: sat by in stations or played with lunch recess) and instead of talking about them in terms of 'friends' just keep asking him about Katie or Sam or whoever by name and may be he'll soon realize that he is surrounded by friends even though he might not have a really close friend.

I will definitely try that! You are a gem! Yes, I would have him go to Jordan Ridge so maybe we could carpool. I'm more concerned about his handwriting. He can read on a 4th grade level and his math is close to that, but his handwriting is worse than a 1st graders. So we've DEFINITELY got to practice in that arena. But I will try that about his friends. That is a great idea! Thanks!!
